Fiber optic cable

What is fiber optics? Fiber optics refers to the technology that transmits information as light pulses along a glass or plastic fiber. A fiber optic cable can contain a varying number of glass fibers, from a few up to a couple hundred. Another glass layer called cladding surrounds the glass fiber core. The buffer tube layer protects the cladding, and a jacket layer acts as the final protective layer for the individual strand. Fiber optic cables are used because of their advantages over copper cables. Some of those benefits include higher bandwidth and transmit speeds. Fiber optics is used for long-distance and high-performance data networking. It is also commonly used in telecommunication services, such as internet, television and telephones. Advantages and disadvantages of fiber optics Advantages- They support higher bandwidth capacities. Light can travel further without needing as much of a signal boost. They are less susceptible to interference, such as electromagnetic interference.

Aluminum wire vs Copper wire-

Copper and aluminum are two of the main choices for wiring in a home and each wiring material comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. ALUMINUM WIRE Advantages- Aluminum wire is generally easier to use than copper because it’s lighter and more malleable, making it an ideal wiring material to use over long distances. Likewise, it is significantly more affordable than copper, so much so that you will generally have half as much copper wire than you would with aluminum for the same cost.  Disadvantages- Aluminum wiring is vulnerable to corrosion and therefore cannot match the lifespan of copper wire.  Likewise, its softness makes it prone to breakage and loose connections. COPPER WIRE Advantages- Copper is the popular choice for many wiring applications, mainly because of its durability and high conductivity.  Disadvantages- It is costlier than aluminum wire.  Apart from its higher cost, it is also heavier, which means it requires the construction of more structural su
